Revocation of Medals previously awarded to Military Personnel
In the U.S. Army, revocation of medals is handled via Army-wide General Orders, containing a list of medals being revoked. One such order is General Order Number 24, issued 31 January 2001, titled “Award of the Distinguished Service Cross – Revocation”; which contains a numbered list going up to 22 of medal awards being revoked.
One such revocation is:

So much of Headquarters, Seventh Army, APO 758, United States Army, General Orders Number 10, dated 16 January 1945, Section II, Paragraph 1, pertaining to the Award of the Distinguished Service Cross to Second Lieutenant (then Staff Sergeant) Rudolph B. Davila, Infantry, United States Army, is hereby revoked.
