How to scale to find Optimum Height of Burst

Find the curve for the desired effect on the charts/graphs below; for 15 PSI peak static overpressure, it’s around 200 meters.

Then use the following equation:

1kTeffect * Yield(1/3) = Scaled_Number

to find the number you want.

If you wanted to know the optimum height of burst for a 225 kiloton weapon based off the 5 PSI curves below; you’d first find that the optimum height at 1 kiloton was 300~ meters; and then do the following equation:

(300 meters) * (225 kilotons)1/3 = 1,824.7 meters

This number can then be used with Weapon Effects v2.1 (21 December 1984) to generate more detailed numbers for your desired device.
